Transportation Day 13 & 14

Art- The Kids made Name Rockets on Day 13. I pre-cut the shape's out and wrote their names on the squares. Each child grabbed their name card from the name wall before we started. Each child found the letter's in their name and placed them in the right order. Today for Art the kids painted with Cars, Trucks & Trains.

Math- Yesterday the kids sorted out different types of Transportation and Today they did number trucks.

Literacy- Yesterday we made Letter Bb bear puppets( I printed them from the following link.... http://www.quality-kids-crafts.com/puppets-alphabetanimal.html ) and Today we made letter Bb mini books. I am not sure where i found these.

Science- Yesterday it rained and snowed here in Phx. Arizona!! This was a big deal. I took the kids outside for some rain exploring. We talked about what rain looked, smelled, sounded and felt like.

Writing- We practiced line tracing today.

Transportation Day 11 & 12

No School on Day 11 due to President's Day but here is what we did on Day 12 of Transportation...

Art- I pulled out the stamp pads and stamps today. The kids love stamps!!

Math- We placed mini train's on number cards and practiced counting.

Literacy- The kids made sailboats for the letter Bb (monthly letter)

Transportation Day 10

No Art for day 10, Most of my kiddo's went home early but here is what we did in Literacy, Math, and Writing...

Writing- I have mostly older 2's so this is the main reason we don't practice tracing the letter of the month but we do practice line writing to prepare for writing. I printed this activity from the following link..... http://www.kidslearningstation.com/tracing-lines/tracing-left-right.asp

Math- My son was given a giant book of Thomas the Train  Seek-and-Find Pictures. The picture below does not show the number's but on another page you are suppose to find  #1-5.

Valentine's Day Party

Today was Valentine's Day! Here is what we did....

Art- We decorated mailbox's for our Valentine's Party, We also made a  caterpillar out of hearts and I printed some coloring page's from Disney Jr. http://disney.go.com/disneyjunior

Math- We did heart sorting by color

Cooking- We made Fruit Salad (One of my kids favorite cooking project's and so easy) This was for our Valentine's Party later today. 

Transportation Day 8

This is what we did on day 8 of Transportation..........

Art- We did mixed media collages for Valentine's Day. We glued  paper hearts on paper, used the stamp pad and used the heart cookie cutter and paint.

Literacy- We were suppose to go outside to do sidewalk chalk letter Bb walking but due to the rain from the day before it was still to wet to go outside. I put painter's tape down on the tile in the shape of a B and the kids walked on the Bb.

Math- I print out small Transportation pictures, cut them in half and taped them to Lego's for matching. My kids loved this.

Transportation Day 6&7

Yesterday (Day 6) it was raining, so we took some time to talk and observe the rain. (We live in Arizona and it never rains) It was a big deal to the kids that it was raining. Here is what we did yesterday and today in our learning centers....

Science/Sensory- I changed out the Rocks/Trucks . This week we have Boats & Water.

Math-On day 6 we used the shape mats but I pulled out the Transportation Cards (Airplane,Rocket,Train &Car)

Day 7 We did a giant Firetruck floor puzzle and our literacy activity was part of Math
today as well (See pictures below in the Literacy section)

Literacy- Day 6 we did Letter Matching (I picked these cards up at the dollar store)

Day 7 We did letter matching as well but on trucks and all were Letter Bb (letter of the month)

Art- On Day 6 we finished our Traffic light's and Day 7 we did a heart tree for Valentines Day.

Transportation-Day 5

We had a short day today so we were not able to finish our Art project. I will post more pictures next week once we are done with our traffic lights.

Art- Traffic Light's made out of Egg cartons. Next week the kids will add a popsicle stick to finish the project off.

Math- Sequencing Puzzles

Literacy-We did button B's today and for lunch i made the kids grilled cheese into butterfly shapes.

Transportation- Day 3 & 4

Here is what we did on Day 3 & 4 of Transportation....

Math- On Day 3 I put down different colors of Construction paper and a big bucket of toy cars & trains. The kids sort out the cars & trains by color by driving them to the right color construction paper.

On Day 4 we did Number puzzles and all of the pictures in the puzzles started with the Letter Bb (letter of the month) After doing the puzzles i had each child tell me the numbers on the puzzle, the picture on the puzzle and the Bb sound.We also focused on the Number 3 by sticking 3 Butterflies in
the bug jar.

Literacy- On Day 3 we did our Bb collage. I always do this project on a day when i know everyone
will be in class. On Day 4 (not pictured) We did a Bb walk. First we went over a list of things that
start with Bb, during Morning Circlet Time, after that we went for a walk and had everyone point out thing in the class and outside that start with the Bb.

Art- Day 3 we made a car out of paper plates and a rectangle cut out of  Construction paper.
On Day 4 we made a heart wreath (Valentine's Day is next week) 

Science/Sensory- I always have the sensory tubs out but today we made a ramp and explored things that would roll down the ramp.

Transportation- Day 2

Here is what we did today in Math, Art & Literacy.

Math- We did Opposite puzzles today

Literacy- We are doing the Letter Bb, So today we did bug stamps on blue paper and glues a Letter Bb on.

Art-

February- Transportation

Today we started our Transportation theme. I will be sure to post as often as possible what we are doing daily in Math, Art & Literacy, as it changes daily but below has what is in some of our learning area's.

Reading Area is filled with all of our Transportation Books.

Block's are being played with on our car rug for the month of February along with car's. The children made bridges and one big garage using the blocks today.

Dramatic Play- I made a Gas pump and Cars out of box's. It took some time but worth it. The kids loved playing with the cars and gas pump.

Science/Sensory- This wee in the sensory tubs are rocks, constitution trucks, trees & wood gates. Next week I will change out the tub to Boats & Water. 

We start  our month & new theme with a class collage. As the month goes on we add pictures (the kids like to go home and find pictures in magazines and bring them to class.)  We also have a letter of the month. This month we are doing the letter Bb. I send home homework (always an option for parents to do at home) My class is older 2''s & young 3's right now so the homework is very easy and not for older kids such as Pre-K.
